Varanasi Smart City Project
Project Overview
One of the current high-end products of the sports infrastructure in Varanasi is the FIH-Certified Hockey Turf Fields at UP College, which are part of the Varanasi Smart City project. The project idea was based on the need to become strong in hockey facilities, conducting professional level training and hosting events to compete with the overall Smart City plan.
The concept to realize the project was based on the idea of providing the FIH-compliant playing conditions which would facilitate the organization of training programs, competitions and development of talents as well as consistency with the Smart City vision of building inclusive and high-quality publicly available sports facilities.
