Project Overview
The FIFA Football Field at Deocherra, Tripura was created in such a way that it would bring an international standard of the football setup to an isolated and up-and-coming sporting part of India. The project was planned to be the trigger to develop grassroots football, professional training, and competitive play.
The facility has been able to provide a local athletes and youth access to a safe, consistent and quality playing environment through the provision of a world class synthetic football field. The initiative demonstrates a high level of dedication towards empowering the sporting economies of a given region and developing future football stars.

The objectives and targets of the Deocherra FIFA Football Field project were:
- To create a FIFA Quality conforming football field that is able to support professional and competitive football.
- To encourage the growth of football at grassroot and identification of talents at an early stage.
- To offer a safe, long-lasting and all weathers surface to use all the year round.

Scope of Work
The project was designed, engineered and constructed to a full-size FIFA-compliant synthetic football field. This covered:
- Extensive location survey and ground work.
- Building of a multi-layer engineered base system.
- Applications of shock absorbing pads.
- Installation of synthetic artificial turf FIFA-approved.
- Use of high quality of infill materials.
- Integrated drainage system developed.
- Last surface preparation, polishing and rehearsing.
The actions were designed and implemented in such a way that they would meet FIFA standards of quality and performance in the long term.

- Drainage system installed underground that will move water down quickly at the surface avoiding damages and time off in case of rainfall.

The project under implementation was executed with a relevant and quality-based construction approach. It all happened in phases; the sub-base development had to be monitored closely to give it a dimensional precision, uniformity of the surface as well as adhering to the international football standards.
